SLS Black Series – Fastest Mercedes Ever

Mercedes is launching two new range topping versions of the SLS – the AMG GT and the AMG Black Series.

The 6.3-litre V8  AMG GT replaces the current SLS AMG Coupe and Roadster, with improved specification, 20bhp more under the bonnet and faster shifting from the seven-speed automatic gearbox. Prices start from £165,000.

The Black Series is the fastest and most powerful production car ever from Mercedes. Priced from £230,000, it has been inspired by the GT3 racing car and with 631bhp, it blasts to 60mph in just 6.3 seconds.

Beautiful to look at and a guaranteed future classic for the discerning….

Order Books Open For Mercedes CLA

Mercedes has opened the order books for the new CLA four-door Coupe. Sleek, svelte and very stylish, the CLA will cost from £24,335 for the 180 petrol model, capable of 50mpg.

Most UK buyers will opt for the 220 CDi version though that produces 170bhp and can return an impressive 62mpg.

Mercedes say that despite the cutting edge design, the CLA is still capable of carrying five people, with a large practical boot too. The manufacturer also says it is the most aerodynamically-efficient car on sale today.

Classic Mercedes A Sound Investment

 

Car Couture doesn’t need much of an excuse to publish a photograph of a classic Mercedes. This stunning 300SL Gullwing comes from an era when cars weren’t the cloned machines they are today.

Not surpirsingly, a report by the Historic Automobile Group International has concluded that the average price of a classic Merc rose 11.6 per cent in 2012 alone.

“Rarer Mercedes models number among some of the most valuable and desirable cars in the world,” said spokesman Dietrich Hatlapa.

Among rarer prestige models of the 1950s, the report says the legendary 300SL Gull-wing and Roadster are a sound investment. For the 1960s and 1970s, models include the exclusive 280 SE 3.5 coupe and cabriolet, along with the hugely successful Pagoda SL 230/250/280 convertibles.
